Geographical Distribution
The ginger plant has a long history of cultivation, having originated in Asia and is grown in India, Southeast Asia, West Africa and the Caribbean. In India, states like Kerala, Arunachal Pradesh, Orissa, Meghalaya, West Bengal it is widely cultivated and, Tamil Nadu, Andhra Pradesh and Karnataka it is cultivated in the lower area.
